Alicia I'm watching and listening right now, and I'm loving it! I'm into the “meat” about 20 minutes in, and I've already thought to myself, “This is really good” a FEW times. Just wanted to say GREAT STUFF!!! I'm paying attention and listening carefully. My book has been on the shelf for a few months while the industry goes through major changes, but I've spun off a new book that's perfect for the ebook approach called “Sexy Budgeting for Fun & Profit” – a lot sexier than a book about debt. I'll be putting your guidance here into action today and will be in touch soon. Thank you for posting this video!

Wow(!) Jesse-I'm glad you like! Shelf-ing a book is fine – just be sure you don't shelf a concept that could be “first to market.” Keep an eye on changes in your industry, and when you discover a unique niche or perspective get it in eBook form, and then you can make it into book form when you finalize and back-up with significant case studies and research. You want to show (the world) that you “own” a particular idea/concept (although there is nothing new under the sun, but we all have a unique spin, I think), and the best way to do that is get it into written form – aka eBook – and up on Kindle or your website. In terms of “Sexy Budgeting”, I suggest you follow blogger and bestselling author, Ramit Sethi, (I believe I mentioned his name to you before), he is doing great work with his blog: http://www.iwillteachyoutoberi…/. He's hilarious – to boot!

You are right, we are all going to die, and there are far too many women who die with theire poetry (or their) “Book” still in them. And I appreciate this wonderful video. I like the practical info and your captivating voice. However your first 10 minutes of pep talk was a bit condescending as many of us lived extraordinary lives hands-on raising kids, gardens and community spirits “working in the field” which is/was every bit as valid, useful, exciting and life-enriching as writing a book! And we never sat at family dinners ever speaking about the book we wanted to write! I have been secretly “planning and working” on my book for 40 years (as I write letters to old friends for about an hour almost every morning) and now I feel certain that it is the right time. …Everything is in Divine Order.

BTW I loved your book “Goal Digger!” and I love your tips in this video too. I am sure you could do a video on making a good video too; I am ready for that kind of instruction right now as well! I am turning a wild savvy and sassy 70 years old soon and I have plenty to say, I am still a bit shy regarding living so large however … So you go girl, go. You're doing the world a great service!! Thanks.

Thanks for your kind words, NuriOneHeart, and I appreciate the schooling as well. Definitely do not want to sound condescending or preachy! Always open to course correction! You are right, real life is in the raising of “kids” (or ourselves!), “gardens, and community spirits”, which I've been focused on of late with my compost/garden and baking cookies! Have an amazing 70th birthday, you savvy and sassy woman you! I'd love to be support as you create the life you want (whether that includes writing a book or not!). Happy 2011!
