Smooth sailing…
On Twitter, the other day, I re-tweeted a memorable quote: “Smooth waters do not a skillful sailor make.” This quote, an African proverb, has hung with me ever since.
This quote reminds me of the time, in my early 20s, when I lived on a sail boat in the South Pacific. I was new to sailing – never have done it before -and one evening I was put in charge to “man” the boat during our crossing from Fiji to Vanuatu (an island off the coast of Australia). When I was sailing, there was a terrible storm and I was struggling to keep the boat on course. I was so scared – I didn’t know what I was doing. But soon I got into the flow, with the help of others on board, and began sailing like a champion.
So, if you are experiencing challenges or turbulent waters in your business or personal life, see it as a blessing. These challenges are just preparing you to be more skillful and resilient sailor in life.

* Just like dieting, individual results vary. 17-Day book Challenge is not for the faint of heart.

Congratulations Sanyika, a.k.a the Financial Fitness Coach!

Give Yourself Credit
She wrote an entire manuscript in just 17 days… really she did!
Actress, entrepreneur and teacher, Melissa Steach, wrote her book in just 17 days. Now she feels totally empowered, because she has the skills to publish her book, market her message, and make more money. Listen to her story:
Do you have WEALTH shame?
My friend and fellow entrepreneur (she also used to be a client), Alexis Martin Neely writes an amazing piece on the wealth shame permeating our society during this current economic crisis.
I agree with her article wholeheartedly. Rather than be peeved by other people’s successes and “wealth”, be inspired and happy for them. When you do so, you open up your life to abundance…
After sharing about my recent trip to Maui, I received the following email from one of my subscribers:
“Alexis, I am on your mailing list. Thanks for all the information I love this kind of thing. However, I have a twinge every time you tell me about your next vacation. There are many people who may or may not get this that just lost their job, were laid off, hours cut back, losing their homes, etc. and your vacation…??!! I think I would just say you are going to be at a mastermind meeting. I am super sensitive to this as I have clients who are really in dire straits and this economy has hurt deep…and I would hate for them to stop reading when they are probably not going to get a vacation and may lose their car or their house.”
